These include the first one 'Alchemy in the UK' at Yew Tree Farm Studios in Suffolk, then to Franconia Sculpture Park, MN a couple of times, back to Suffolk at Butley Mills Studios, then to New Orleans Sculpture Lab, Berllanderi Sculpture Workshop in Wales, and most recently Salem Art Works in Upstate New York.

For the summer of 2012 USUK Iron Symposium will be held at Salem Art Works in Salem, NY, USA as well as at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Aberdeenshire, UK.

We look forward to sharing the activities with you on the following pages.

USUK IRON at SALEM ART WORKS

The first session for this years USUK International Cast Iron Sculpture Symposium will take place from Friday Eve when the artists begin to arrive and go through to Sunday July 1st at Salem Art Works in Upstate New York.

The eleven Artists who have been selected Internationally will work alongside each other to produce new work in cast iron using traditional and experimental processes, culminating in a Public Iron Pour and Exhibition. Artists learn from each other by living and working together in the critically engaged environment created by the symposium. Technical demonstrations and artists presentations are scheduled throughout the symposium and its unique site.

Salem Art Works is an independent artists center and sculpture park, situated 200 miles north of NYC on 120 acres of rolling hillsides, surrounded by thick woods, running streams, ponds, pastures and rustic outbuildings reflecting its history as a working dairy farm.
